Volunteer Adventure Program

Since our inception, people have been clamoring for more hand-on ways to help 2020 MicroClinic Initiative (2020 MCI). If donations and clothing drives don’t quite satisfy that itch to do good, well, do we have news for you!

2020 MicroClinic Initiative is thrilled to announce the start of the Volunteer Adventure Program (VAP). Come to Kenya, help us work towards our mission, and have some fun along the way. A VAP trip has two main components:

Community Work

Activities will address the current needs of the communities served by 2020 MCI by making use of the abilities, interests, skills, and passions of the VAP participants. Possible activities include (but are not limited to):

  • Launching a Medical Hub

  • Visiting homes and meeting families

  • Teaching basic maternal health skills

  • Distributing baby clothes

  • Hosting and cooking for community events

  • Lecturing at a school

Safari

Kenya and the surrounding region is home to some of the most awe-inspiring wildlife in the most picturesque environments in the world. No trip to Eastern Africa is complete without seeing the zebras, giraffes, elephants, and lions.

Reward yourself for your hard work volunteering with a trip into the African wilderness. We work with James Makau (safari guide with over 30 years of experience, founder of Wilderness Zones tour group) to custom-design your perfect excursion. Visit rhinoceros and chimpanzee sanctuaries, follow a pride of lions, hike with mountain gorillas—the possibilities are endless!

Features

  • Flexible itinerary — the program is customized around preferences, abilities, ages, and budget of the participants.

  • Minimum age of 16 years old — great for passionate high schoolers (and their families) who want to do something more with their vacations than just sit on a beach.

  • All-inclusive price — accommodation, transportation, and meals are arranged and paid for ($4,500 per person minimum for two people for 10 days).

  • Professional guides — trained professionals will lead the way and accompany volunteers every step of the way.

There's nothing more rewarding than getting down and dirty for a cause that you believe in and actively pushing it towards success. If you want to be a part of that push to improve mother and child health in Kenya, please fill out the this form so we can begin planning your adventure.
